Penis pumps were originally designed to help men with circulatory problems gain erections. The
device is a cylinder with a hose that is placed on to the penis. The pump is then depressed
which removes the air from the cylinder, this creates an erection. After the erection is
produced, the device is removed and usually a special rubber band is placed around the base of
the penis to hold the blood in the penis and the resulting erection. The man then has sex and
after removes the band to release the blood and the erection. The rubber band should not be
kept on the penis for more than 15-20 minutes or damage can occur.
